Since 2002, our Nurse Corps programs have helped alleviate the critical shortage of nurses across the United States and its territories. Currently, more than 3,600 Nurse Corps providers care for over 3.5 million patients across the country.
The Nurse Corps programs that we offer to help address shortages of nurses across the country include:
- Loan repayment to nurses who work in health care facilities experiencing a critical shortage of nurses.
- Scholarships to students enrolled—or accepted for enrollment—in nursing degree programs.
Currently:
More than 900 Nurse Corps scholars preparing to work at a Nurse Corps site after graduation
Nearly 300 Nurse Corps faculty members training the next generation of nurses
More than 600 Nurse Corps clinicians serving at community health centers
More than 800 Nurse Corps participants serving at nearly 500 rural sites and schools
