Who do I contact for grants.gov technical support?
You may call or email the Grants.gov Support Center at 1-800-518-4726 or support@grants.gov.
What is the definition of future Behavioral Health Workforce Development program recipients?
The BHWD-TA Program provides tailored technical assistance services to the HRSA-funded Behavioral Health Workforce Education and Training Program for Professionals, Behavioral Health Workforce Education and Training Program for Paraprofessionals, and the Graduate Psychology Education Program. Future recipients are grantees with additional mental health training programs funded by HRSA.
Where can I obtain a list of program recipients for the three BHWD programs?
To see examples of current recipients for these grant programs set to end June 30, 2025, go to the HRSA Data Warehouse. From the dropdown menu for Program, choose the Behavioral Health Workforce Education and Training Program or the Graduate Psychology Education Program.
Can I use the grant to support a conference if it aligns with the training initiatives?
Yes. Grant funds may be used to support a conference aligning with grant goals.
Is this a one-time funding announcement?
Yes. This is a one-time funding opportunity. HRSA plans to fund four 12-month budget periods from September 1, 2025, to August 31, 2029. The program and estimated awards depend on the future appropriation of funds and are subject to change based on the availability and amount of appropriations.
Eligibility
How do I determine if my organization is eligible?
Please see the Eligibility section of the funding opportunity for eligibility. Your program must meet the requirements listed in the Program Requirements and Expectations section.
Key personnel and staffing
Can the Project Director be different than the Principal Investigator?
No. HRSA recognizes only one person as the Project Director, sometimes called the Principal Investigator. However, applicants can identify additional key personnel in their staffing plan.
Can I list a Co-Principal Investigator as key personnel on the staffing plan?
Yes. HRSA considers key personnel those who are critical to the project, meaning their absence would impact the approved scope of the project. Applicants must determine which staff members are key personnel.
Accreditation
Are health professions schools and academic health centers required to provide proof of both behavioral health training accreditation and higher education institutional accreditation from nationally recognized accrediting agencies to meet eligibility requirements?
No. Health professions schools and academic health centers are not required to submit proof of both behavioral health training and higher education institutional accreditations.
Are nonprofits required to provide proof of behavioral health training accreditation from a national accrediting body to meet eligibility requirements?
Yes. Nonprofit entities should provide documentation of state or tribal government approval to provide behavioral health training, or proof of accreditation from a nationally recognized accrediting body as Attachment 1.
Use of funds
If the Project Director transfers to another institution during the life of the project, can the grant transfer to their new institution?
No. The grant is awarded to the institution and not to the PD. If the PD transfers, the recipient can select another PD to carry out the project.
What is the threshold amount for equipment?
The threshold amount for equipment is $10,000 per unit. Anything below this amount should be classified as supplies.
Is the indirect cost part of the overall request, or is it considered an additional request?
The indirect cost is part of the overall request.
What is the maximum salary limitation?
The salary limitation for 2025 has been released at the Level II (PDF - 3 KB) rate of $225,700.
