Loans for Disadvantaged Students (LDS)

Students must be pursuing one of these degrees:

  • Doctor of Allopathic Medicine
  • Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine
  • Doctor of Dentistry
  • Bachelor or Doctor of Science in Pharmacy
  • Doctor of Podiatric Medicine
  • Doctor of Optometry
  • Doctor of Veterinary Medicine

Is my school eligible for the LDS?

Your school is eligible if it offers degrees in one of these disciplines:

  • Allopathic/Osteopathic
  • Podiatry
  • Dentistry
  • Optometry
  • Pharmacy
  • Veterinary

How do I apply for the LDS?

  1. Read the SF424 instructions (PDF - 290 KB) and fill out the SF424 form (PDF - 144 KB)
    • If you receive an error stating the document requires Adobe Reader 8 or higher, open the document in Adobe and select "Enable All Features" to view the document.
  2. Complete the Loans for Disadvantaged Students (LDS) Program Application (PDF - 184 KB) application
  3. Submit the SF424 and program application to the program officer.
