Teaching Health Center Graduate Medical Education Program (THCGME)

This program supports community-based primary care residency programs to train primary care physician and dental residents in underserved and rural settings. Am I eligible?

When funding is available, you can apply if you* are a community-based ambulatory patient care center that sponsors an accredited primary care residency program in one of the following specialties/disciplines:

• Psychiatry
• Obstetrics and gynecology
• Geriatrics
• Pediatrics
• Family medicine
• Internal medicine
• Internal Medicine - Pediatrics
• General dentistry
• Pediatric dentistry

Program awardees regularly submit data and reports about their funded programs to HRSA for analysis. The National Center for Health Workforce Analysis analyzes the data, evaluates the programs, and produces annual reports on the program’s outcomes and impacts.
