Before you schedule an interview
Before scheduling an interview, you must send the complete site name and address to your analyst. They will verify site eligibility and HPSA score. Remember to communicate with your analyst using the Open Question ID# assigned for employment-related correspondence in the BHW Customer Service Portal (see Step 1). The Open Question ID# can be found under Activities. Use the blue Contact Us option once you click into the Open Question ID# to send your message.
Note that this step locks in the HPSA score. HPSA scores can change. You must receive and accept a job offer six months post-interview for the HPSA score to be honored. This step also ensures you are pursuing an opportunity that will satisfy your service obligation.
After your analyst confirms a site's eligibility, you may schedule the interview.
If the site does not have a listed Nurse Corps point of contact, you will need to find a person at your chosen site who is willing to create a point of contact account.
This person must:
- Be willing to activate and maintain their account
- Must have access to your employment time and attendance
- Be someone who is NOT lateral (a peer) to you
The point of contact will be the person to confirm your employment and complete in-service verifications in the portal for you. If you cannot find someone to be a point of contact, the site is ineligible for you. We encourage you to discuss the need for a point of contact during the interview. Find more information about the point of contact role in the Nurse Corps Scholarship Application and Program Guidance (PDF - 771 KB).
Relocating for a job
You may need to relocate to find a job that meets your service requirements. The Nurse Corps Scholarship Program does not provide relocation incentives or reimbursement.
