Step 3: Interview with Eligible Employers

Submit site information for approval

To interview with eligible employers, you must follow each of the following steps:

  1. Required: Send your regional analyst the complete site name and address prior to all interviews
  2. Receive site approval from your regional analyst.

Interview process and requirements

  • For listed and unlisted sites:
    • Send the site name and address to your regional analyst using the Question ID(#) to confirm site approval.
    • You must send this information for all sites, even if the site is not listed in the Health Workforce Connector.
    • Your regional analyst will ensure the site meets your Nurse Corps service obligation requirements.
    • If the site is approved, you can proceed with the interview.
    • If the site is not approved, you will need to continue searching for an eligible site.

Interview at a site not listed in the Health Workforce Connector

  • You can interview at a site not listed in the Health Workforce Connector if you have confirmed site approval with your Regional Analyst.
  • During the interview, discuss with the site about assigning a Point of Contact (POC). The POC is required for every site and is responsible for creating a portal account, verifying initial employment, and conducting ongoing in-service verifications (ISVs) to track hours worked towards your service obligation.
  • The POC can be a human resources representative, shift supervisor, or mid-level manager, but cannot be a peer.
  • The POC must be willing to activate and maintain their portal account and have access to your time and attendance records.
  • Provide the POC with the POC User Guide (PDF - 5 MB) for details on their responsibilities and instructions.
  • If you cannot find a suitable POC, you cannot accept employment at that site.
