Purpose: Support paraprofessionals to work with families affected by opioids and other substance use disorders.

Our workforce programs help strengthen the health workforce and connect skilled health care providers to communities in need, improving the health of people who need it most.
We offer scholarship, loan, and loan repayment programs to individuals and award grants to organizations (For example, schools, hospitals, health departments).
Postdoctoral Training in General, Pediatric, and Public Health Dentistry (PDD) Program
Purpose: Increase the number of dental and dental hygiene faculty. Through loan repayment, the grant helps training programs attract and retain dental and dental hygiene faculty. The focus is on pediatric dentistry faculty supervising residents.
Predoctoral Pediatric Training in General Dentistry and Dental Hygiene
Purpose: Enhance dental workforce education and training to prepare predoctoral dental students, dental hygiene students, and dental hygienists to practice in new and emerging models of care that are designed to meet the needs of vulnerable, underserved, or rural communities.
Preventive Medicine Residency (PMR) Program
Purpose: Increase the number, quality, and diversity of preventive medicine residents and physicians to support access to preventive medicine and to integrate population health with primary care to improve the health of communities.
Primary Care Dental Faculty Development Program
Purpose: Establish a training center for the career development of junior primary care dental faculty, doctors of dental surgery, doctors of dental medicine, and dental hygienists.
Primary Care Loans (PCL)
Purpose: Assist accredited public schools and educational intuitions in offering low-interest loans to degree-seeking students in the health care field.
Primary Care Training and Enhancement (PCTE): Community Prevention and Maternal Health (CPMH)
Purpose: Train primary care physicians in maternal health care to improve maternal health outcomes.
Primary Care Training and Enhancement (PCTE): Integrating Behavioral Health and Primary Care Program (IBHPC)
Purpose: Support training programs that integrate behavioral health care into primary care with a special emphasis on treating opioid use disorder.
Primary Care Training and Enhancement (PCTE): Physician Assistant Rural Training in Behavioral Health (PCTE-PARB)
Purpose: Develop clinical rotations for primary care Physician Assistant (PA) students in rural areas. They will integrate behavioral health with primary care services.
Primary Care Training and Enhancement (PCTE): Primary Care Medicine and Dentistry Clinician Educator Career Development (PCMD-CECDA)
Purpose: Strengthen the primary care workforce by training and supporting clinicians who plan to teach in the primary care fields.
